How do I compare travel budgets in Italy?

The cards compare the same stay for two adults sharing a room. One week means 7 days and 6 nights; two weeks means 14 days and 13 nights. Car hire and sightseeing are counted for as many days as nights, and meals for every day. These are indicative DolceRoutes planning prices; check them against your bookings.

Costs vary with your stops: Milan and the lakes, Rome and the countryside, Naples and the Amalfi Coast call for different budgets. For islands, compare flights with baggage and car hire against the ferry, your vehicle, any cabin and the journey to the port.

Use the same dates, comfort level, meals and transport when comparing options. The price of a coffee cannot tell you the cost of a whole trip.

A per-person budget for two is different from travelling solo: you still pay for the room and car on your own. For families, compare the rooms you need with an apartment and check child prices.
